For the last two years, MTCC has biked to the Dayton Major Taylor Cycling Club's annual Signature Ride. Some call it “The Ride to the Ride”. And from the looks of it, it will be another unforgettable bike excursion with MTCC.
“A stronger bond was created for some members while a new one had been forged for others.” Richard Simons(RAJ)
The effort MTCC men put forth for the fellowship ride to MTCCD Signature is highly commendable. Despite the obstacles they faced on their bike 80- mile journey to Dayton during the Fellowship Ride, the MTCC MEN persevered. They cycled through the rain for at least 70 miles of the journey, and they had to carry their bikes up 52 steps when the river flooded and washed out the trail. The following morning ride 40 to 66 miles as part of the MTCCD Signature Ride.
This is a great representation of Major Taylor's legacy, who battled both physical and mental challenges throughout his racing career. Without minimizing the difficulties Major Taylor faced during his racing career, it is important to mention that on their journey to Dayton, members of the MTCC, displayed a level of mental and physical toughness similar to our Legacy.
The Fellowship Ride to Dayton's signature ride hopefully becomes like the memories of TOSRV.
Riding , you may never know or may understand how things will go on a ride ,but the relationship that will come from being on a bike for a 100 mile is priceless.
